Carolyn has been a passionate agronomist with a bent towards natural solutions in the field, and who sees the connection between soil, plant, animal and human health.
Carolyn pulled back from actively consulting with farmers after her second child in 2005, and focused instead on spreading information on biological ideas and solutions via an electronic newsletter – From The Soil Up – then opened an online organic shop – Revisiting Nature. She was also a director of Biodynamics Agriculture Australia 2010 – 2013. She opened Funki Munki in 2015.
Nick is Carolyn’s husband and confidante who also has a long history as an agronomist with strong inclinations towards natural solutions. He is an accredited Permaculture consultant with much sort after computer mapping skills, but spends most of his time now providing and analysing precision ag data.
After having a professional career within the finance industry, Svetlana gave up her corporate life to participate in a regional life and to further her interests in naturopathy, nutrition, and herbal remedies.
Svetlana has joined Funki Munki to utilise her many skills acquired over the last several years in natural remedies and alternative health approaches. She has a broad knowledge and keeps across naturopathic products and feedback from customers.
In the last 10 years, she has been involved in the Inverell District, having participated in various community groups that are involved in agriculture and health science, as it relates to utilising food and plants grown in the local district.
Now, based and living on the farm, Svetlana can finally afford the opportunity to grow and create remedies such as tinctures and alternatives to pharmaceuticals.
Svetlana is passionate about meeting new people and sharing experiences and advice.
Funki Munki is a natural merging of skills and interests, all centered around non-toxic, health promoting, fair trade ethics – with an enormous desire to nurture and prompt locals into providing more and more of the raw materials and services.
Funki Munki is also host to Wellards Artisan Bakehouse who bake up genuine sourdough breads Wednesday – Saturday, and a variety of real butter pastries on Saturday mornings.
