SugarWrap is made from Bio-PE (polyethylene) which has exactly the same properties as regular Petro-PE, but is made from biomass (plant material). SugarWrap will break down much faster than regular Petro-plastics (3 – 5 years compared to 100+ years), but it is not certified as a compostable product. SugarWrap Bio-PE is a 100% Recyclable material.
SugarWrap Bio-PE performs better than regular Petro-PE plastics. SugarWrap has the same structural strength as regular Petro-plastics, but it is also totally microwave and freezer safe. It is also 100% BPA Free and totally food safe. SugarWrap zip lock bags can be washed and reused many times. SugarWrap product packaging is made from 100% recycled cardboard and all printing is done with vegetable die to limit our impact on the environment.
