Contrary to its common name Black Cumin Seed, the Black Seed has no connection to the Cumin or Sesame family.
The Black Seed is in fact taken from the Nigella Sativa plant- a herb that originates in Western Asia and is classified as part of the Buttercup a family.
Black Seed Oil is fast gaining momentum as the preferred method of Black Seed use, as a teaspoon of the oil is much more concentrated than a teaspoon of the seeds. As well as this, the oil of the Black Seed can be ingested as well as applied topically.
